An East Coast Utility had leaks in a 40' x 35' x 25' vacuum condenser. The service was air at -27.1 inches Hg at 230°F.
To stop the leaks, Team utilized a unique repair technique that allowed Team technicians to inspect the tube sheet and tubes without the expensive dismantling of the box.
Bad tubes were plugged and leaks were bonded.
Tube sheets requiring re-enforcement were bonded with special Team sealants as well.
Outside seams - flanges, weld seams, welds around pipes - were cleaned, rinsed, bonded and repainted.
Station officials expressed satisfaction at the savings and timeliness of the work.
